Wow 693 is a lot of pieces January 6, 2009 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R39QVKOAL133DI Be warned 693 is a LOT of pieces and it will take a LONG time to put this together, took me 4 hours. Here is a timelapse of me putting it together.
Bionicle January 6, 2009 This is a great toy! My seven year old grandson had it put together in a day. He loves this kind of stuff and is very good at putting things together. Thank You for the speedy shipment and the good condition that it was in.
Probably the most durable/interactive Lego Set we have January 6, 2009 I'll confess up front I am not a Bionicle fan, but my seven year old is. So when he requested this for Christmas I was not too excited. But I have to admit his may be the best Lego set for playing interactively with.
This is a fairly expensive set, but we felt we got our moneys worth. The design is fairly complex and we were building it off and on for several days. There are some well thought out gears that allow you to deploy the weapons and can then retract them back into the body of the vehicle. A similar set of gears allow you to manipulate the claws at the back of the vehicle and another to control the landing gear. The gears work smoothly and consistently -- very well designed.
I am a huge fan of my son playing and designing with Legos but the one draw back seems to be that most sets are better for display than play. We are constantly repairing Star Wars sets due to pieces falling off. The Bionicles and this kit in particular seem much more in line for active play. My son has taken this kit everywhere and even slept with it and it has neither broken or lost pieces.
I'm still not personally a Bionicle fan, but I cannot argue the quality of this kit or the fun my son has had with it. If you like bionicles, I highly recommend this set.
Axalara Approval December 28, 2008 My 10-year old son was thrilled with this gift. He worked non-stop until he had it assembled and has really enjoyed playing with it. He created a display in his room and has this along with other Lego Bionicle Products out to enjoy.
